Client Visits: Lake District

Last week a few members of the team were out visiting client hotels. The visits are something we really look forward to as we get to connect with people – what we’re all about at Icognia. It’s a really important part of our work and one we take very seriously. To ensure we are offering the best roles to our candidates in the best hotels we need to see it with our own eyes!

In every visit we speak to the management, view the hotel, kitchens and staff accommodation. We also taste the food and speak to the team – many of whom we will have placed, so it’s nice to see familiar faces!

These visits mean we can truly speak from the heart when we introduce candidates to hotels. We don’t read from a website how amazing the food is, we’ve tasted it and we certainly won’t tell you what you want to hear about the staff accommodation – we've seen it. We are honest and real.

Last week took us to the Lake District – there were some truly breathtaking views on the way and at each hotel. This area is so scenic and for the right candidate it’s absolute bliss. We caught up with Jenny, a Receptionist we placed at one of the hotels. Jenny has a true passion for hiking, so to have an almost endless option for routes is something that really sold the role for her.

We were thrilled to hear that Jenny was so happy at the hotel and has been there now for 6 months. She loves that her work can support her passion – and it really helps that we also found her partner a great role at the same hotel! You don’t live to work, you work to live and that’s exactly what Jenny has done. You may feel stuck in a role right now that prevents you from doing what you really love – and it really doesn’t need to be the case. We are here to help, to partner your passion with a role you’ll enjoy in hospitality.

As we expected, each of the hotels we visited came out with top marks on our routine checks. If you’d like to speak to us about a role, whether it is front of house, reception, kitchen, back of house or management please get in touch!
